A fantastic Bike Week is almost over and Rally On The Rock has begun.  Lots of super cool bikes cruising throught the area enjoying the warmer than usual weather.

A wintry winter seemed to morph directly into a summery spring.  suddenly found myself searching through storage to find my shorts and summer shirts.  Didn't seem to have very many days in the 50's or 60's.  It's fine by me, though.  It just means there are that many more days spent on the beach and swimming or on a boat and fishing.  Two of the best ways to spend time, as far as i'm concerned.

I'm looking forward to another great summer filled with interesting guests, summer projects, and picnic food.  If you are thinking about a visit to McKenna's Inn, I can't wait to meet you.  If you've been here before and are considering a return visit, thanks for your vote of confidence and I'm looking forward to catching up and discussing the latest news from Little Pittsburgh over breakfast.

Best regards for a fun and safe summer,

School is fully in session again and my favorite season has begun!  Fall on Catawba is always fabulous.  Sunny days (most of the time) with mild temperatures and cooler nights which make sleeping easy and morning coffee taste even better than usual.  Even the chores that go along with a change of seasons are a joy: Filling the firewood crib, changing the garden flag to my favorite one, stocking up on hot chocolate, switching out shorts and t-shirts for jeans and sweaters, trying one more time to get some hardier grass growing in the front yard.  It's all good.

I recently attended a football game at my alma mater, BGSU.  What a treat.  Met with old friends (who haven't changed a bit - still fun as ever) and enjoyed some Myles Pizza the next day. BG won, by the way - GO FALCONS!

Still excited to find some time to begin construction of the gardens and the chicken residence hall (I'm still thinking about the old days in BG).  I think I finally have a slight advantage over the wildflowers and other plants which usually take over the field.  I need to get going while it is mostly under control.

I am not a huge TV watcher, but I am impressed with the selection of channels that our new DirecTv setup offers.  I never knew (although I might have guessed) that there is a channel devoted all day long to tennis.  Not that there is anything wrong with tennis, I am just more likely to tune in to the History channel (or maybe Boomerang - which is awesome!)

On to my innkeeper duties.  Have a great fall.  See you at the inn.
